Privacy policy

Effective 1 September 2026

The current app has no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs. Family content is stored on your devices and, when sharing is enabled, through Apple CloudKit. Support email and subscription verification are separate data flows described below.

Who we are

Kudozi is provided by Matthew Mosses (“we”, “us” or “our”). For privacy questions, contact kudozisupport@icloud.com.

Information used by Kudozi

You may add family and profile names, avatar choices, jobs, schedules, completion and approval history, Kudos balances, rewards, family settings, and optional notes or reasons. Kudozi also stores technical identifiers needed to connect the correct family and profile when iCloud sharing is used.

The app does not ask for a Kudozi account, precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data or payment-card details.

How the information is used

to show and manage family jobs, rewards, Kudos and progress;
to keep information consistent across invited family devices;
to send an optional local evening reminder when required jobs remain; and
to maintain the app’s operation, including resolving changes made on different devices.

We do not use this information for advertising, third-party marketing, profiling or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell it.

Purchases

The planned annual subscription will use Apple’s StoreKit and App Store services. Apple will process billing information; Kudozi will not receive complete payment-card details. Subscription verification may use purchase identifiers, access status, expiry dates and a family identifier. Such identifiers are pseudonymous, not necessarily anonymous. Before paid subscriptions become available, this policy will be updated with the final entitlement-service provider, processing locations and retention schedule.

Support and feedback

Kudozi lets an adult draft feedback in Family Settings. The draft remains in the app until Kudozi opens the device's email flow. Kudozi does not send it automatically: you can review, change or discard the message before choosing whether to send it.

If you email kudozisupport@icloud.com, we receive your email address, any sender name and whatever you include in the message or attachments. We use this information to respond, investigate problems and consider improvements. Messages are handled through Apple iCloud Mail. Please do not send passwords, private invitation links or unnecessary personal information about children.

We do not automatically subscribe people who contact support to marketing emails. We normally retain support and feedback correspondence for up to 24 months after the last contact, then delete it unless it is still reasonably needed for an unresolved request, security issue, dispute or legal obligation.

Why we process personal information

For adult customers, processing needed to provide the requested service relies on performance of a contract. Processing family profile information under an adult organiser’s direction is necessary to provide the family service. Responding to enquiries, preventing misuse and maintaining Kudozi relies on legitimate interests, where those interests do not override individuals’ rights. Processing necessary to meet legal obligations relies on those obligations. Notification permission is a device setting, not blanket consent to data processing.

This website

These pages contain no advertising or contact-form database. Email links open your email app. The website is hosted through OpenAI Sites, which provides hosting-level traffic analytics and may process technical connection data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver, secure and operate the pages.

Storage and sharing

Kudozi keeps a copy of family information on the device. If the family organiser enables separate-device sharing, Kudozi uses Apple CloudKit to store and sync that family’s information through iCloud and to deliver silent sync notifications. The organiser chooses which people and devices receive private invitations. Other invited family members can see the family information appropriate to the app’s shared family experience.

Apple processes iCloud and App Store information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. Kudozi does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

Children

Kudozi is designed for use within a family under the direction of a parent or carer. An adult creates the family and child profiles and controls invitations, jobs, rewards and family settings. Children are not asked to provide an email address or create a Kudozi account. Parents and carers should use first names, nicknames or other minimal profile names and avoid entering sensitive information in free-text fields.

Notifications

If enabled, Kudozi can schedule one evening reminder on a device when required jobs are still waiting. Notification permission can be changed at any time in iOS Settings. CloudKit may also use silent notifications to keep shared family data up to date; these do not display advertising or marketing messages.

Retention and deletion

Information remains on a device until it is edited, removed, the family is reset, or the app’s data is deleted. The family organiser can permanently end a shared family from Family Settings, which removes the shared family from iCloud and disconnects its devices. A participant can leave a shared family from the app. Removing the app may remove its local data, but shared iCloud data may remain until the organiser deletes the shared family.

Security and transfers

Kudozi relies on Apple’s device, iCloud and CloudKit security and private sharing controls. Information stored through iCloud may be processed in countries where Apple or its service providers operate. No system is completely secure, so keep Apple Accounts and devices protected.

Your choices and rights

You can view and change family information in the app, turn reminders off, stop sharing a profile, leave a shared family, or ask the organiser to delete the family. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of personal information. Contact us to make a request.

You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data-protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Kudozi’s features or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the effective date. Privacy enquiries can be emailed to kudozisupport@icloud.com.
