Privacy policy

Kudozi apps have no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs. Family content is stored on your devices and, when sharing is enabled, through Apple CloudKit. Kudozi: Chores and Rewards also uses a separate entitlement service to verify subscriptions and invited devices. Kudozi Potty is free and does not use that service.

Apps covered by this policy

This shared policy is the privacy home for the Kudozi app family. The detailed provisions below apply to Kudozi: Chores and Rewards and Kudozi Potty.

Before Kudozi Moments is made available for public testing or release, we will update this policy to explain that app’s information, purposes, storage, sharing, retention, deletion and lawful basis.

Information used by Kudozi: Chores and Rewards

You may add family and profile names, avatar choices, jobs, schedules, completion and approval history, Kudos balances, rewards, family settings, and optional notes or reasons. Kudozi also stores technical identifiers needed to connect the correct family and profile when iCloud sharing is used.

Information used by Kudozi Potty

An adult may add an adult display name, child names or nicknames, family wording, reminder and childcare settings, day context, and toilet-learning moments. A moment can include how it began, whether there was a toilet visit, whether a wee or poo was recorded, an accident or nappy outcome, and optional wiping, flushing and hand-washing actions.

Kudozi Potty does not require a Kudozi account and does not request access to precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, Apple Health or medical records. Toilet-learning records can still be personal and sensitive. Context about pain, constipation, illness or another health concern may reveal information about a child’s health. Adults should enter only what is useful, avoid unnecessary detail and share it only with trusted adults.

Kudozi Potty uses recorded information only to provide the logging, reminder, history, sharing and pattern features chosen by the adult. It does not diagnose a condition, create a clinical profile or use the information for advertising, eligibility decisions or unrelated purposes.

How the information is used

We do not use this information for advertising, third-party marketing, profiling or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell it.

Purchases

This section applies to Kudozi: Chores and Rewards. Its annual subscription uses Apple’s StoreKit and App Store services. Apple processes billing information; Kudozi does not receive complete payment-card details. Kudozi Potty is free and does not use the entitlement service described below.

To verify that a subscription covers the correct family and its invited devices, Kudozi’s entitlement service processes the original App Store transaction identifier, a hashed App Account Token, product identifier, subscription status and relevant expiry or revocation dates. It also processes pseudonymous family, profile and device identifiers and Apple App Attest security information. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not necessarily anonymous.

The entitlement service does not receive family or profile names, jobs, schedules, completion history, Kudos balances, rewards, notes or other family content. Entitlement information is used only for app functionality, subscription verification, device authorisation and security. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Support and feedback

Kudozi apps can let an adult draft feedback from the app. The draft remains on the device until Kudozi opens the device’s email flow. Kudozi does not send it automatically: you can review, change or discard the message before choosing whether to send it.

If you email kudozisupport@icloud.com, we receive your email address, any sender name and whatever you include in the message or attachments. We use this information to respond, investigate problems and consider improvements. Messages are handled through Apple iCloud Mail. Please do not send passwords, private invitation links or unnecessary personal information about children.

We do not automatically subscribe people who contact support to marketing emails. We normally retain support and feedback correspondence for up to 24 months after the last contact, then delete it unless it is still reasonably needed for an unresolved request, security issue, dispute or legal obligation.

Why we process personal information

For adult customers, processing needed to provide the requested service relies on performance of a contract. Processing family profile information under an adult organiser’s direction is necessary to provide the family service. Responding to enquiries, preventing misuse and maintaining Kudozi relies on legitimate interests, where those interests do not override individuals’ rights. Processing necessary to meet legal obligations relies on those obligations. Notification permission is a device setting, not blanket consent to data processing.

Adults decide what optional context to record in Kudozi Potty and whether to enable iCloud sharing. If information entered into the app reveals a child’s health, additional data-protection rules may apply. We minimise this information, do not use it to infer a diagnosis and process it only for the family-controlled features described in this policy. Families can remove individual records, reset the family or end sharing as described below.

This website

These pages contain no advertising or contact-form database. Email links open your email app. The website is hosted through OpenAI Sites, which provides hosting-level traffic analytics and may process technical connection data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver, secure and operate the pages.

Storage and sharing

Kudozi keeps a copy of family information on the device. If the family organiser enables separate-device sharing, the app uses Apple CloudKit to store and sync that family’s information through iCloud and to deliver silent sync notifications. The organiser chooses which adults and devices receive private invitations. Invited adults can see and manage the information in that shared family.

For Kudozi: Chores and Rewards, the separate entitlement service is hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in its London region. AWS processes the limited pseudonymous entitlement and security records described under “Purchases” so Kudozi can verify access and protect invited-device connections. Kudozi Potty does not send its toilet-learning records to this service.

Apple processes iCloud and App Store information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. Kudozi does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Service providers acting for Kudozi are required through applicable contractual and legal obligations to provide the same or equivalent protection for the information they process.

Children

Kudozi is designed for use within a family under the direction of a parent or carer. An adult creates the family and child profiles and controls invitations and family settings. Kudozi Potty is an adult-facing app; children are not asked to use it, provide an email address or create an account. Parents and carers should use first names, nicknames or other minimal profile names and avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information.

Notifications

If enabled, Kudozi: Chores and Rewards can schedule an evening reminder when required jobs remain. Kudozi Potty can schedule reminders chosen by an adult, including routine reminders and one-off alerts after food or drink. Quiet hours and childcare periods can pause Kudozi Potty reminders. Each adult chooses whether their own device receives alerts, and notification permission can be changed at any time in iOS Settings.

CloudKit may also use silent notifications to keep shared family data up to date. Kudozi notifications do not contain advertising or third-party marketing.

Retention and deletion

Information remains on a device until it is edited, removed, the family is reset, or the app’s data is deleted. The family organiser can permanently end a shared family from Family Settings, which removes the shared family from iCloud and disconnects its devices. An invited adult can leave a shared family from the app. Removing the app may remove its local data, but shared iCloud data may remain until the organiser deletes the shared family.

For Kudozi: Chores and Rewards, pseudonymous entitlement records are retained while needed to operate family access, maintain subscription history, protect the service and meet legal obligations. Short-lived invitation and security challenges expire automatically. App Store notification de-duplication records are deleted automatically after 180 days.

Deleting a shared Kudozi: Chores and Rewards family from iCloud does not itself delete its separate entitlement records. To request deletion of those records or for other help with deletion, contact kudozisupport@icloud.com. We may need information sufficient to verify the request and locate the correct pseudonymous family or purchase record.

Security and transfers

Kudozi relies on Apple’s device, iCloud, CloudKit and App Attest security controls, private sharing controls, and signed entitlement responses from its AWS-hosted service. Entitlement records are processed in AWS’s London region. Information stored through iCloud may be processed in countries where Apple or its service providers operate. No system is completely secure, so keep Apple Accounts and devices protected.

Your choices and rights

You can view and change family information in the app, turn reminders off, stop sharing a profile, leave a shared family, or ask the organiser to delete the family. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of personal information. Contact us to make a request.

You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data-protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Kudozi’s features or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the effective date. Privacy enquiries can be emailed to kudozisupport@icloud.com.
